SR1911 NRA Special
SR1911 NRA Special
I'm looking to find out how to get the Rugar 1911 NRA Special appraised? I'd like to sell but need to know what it would be worth. I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place. Newbie!

Re: SR1911 NRA Special
Does anyone have any idea how many they made? No one at Ruger can answer that. I sent for a letter of authenticity but they lacked that information. Everyone was acting like it was so special. I won mine at the NRA convention in Indy in April.

This is Ruger model 6746.
It is a distributor exclusive that is still being made for Davidson's.
Since it is an NRA edition, a small portion of the sale goes to the NRA, so Davidson's will probably continue to sell as many as they can.
It is doubtful if more than 2,000 have been sold. I haven't seen any over 1,000 yet.

I'm not really a collector. Would it be worth keeping? Not shooting?
Re: SR1911 NRA Special
If you were to find one, I would probably shoot the heck out of it.
Collectibility is in the eye of the beholder, and I only know of one SR1911 collector.
