I have 2 of the RCA "Mark" Mark II Target Pistols, one blued and one gold inlaid. The research that I have done (R.E.N.E. and other sources) indicate that there was a total of 801 made (635 blued and 166 gold inlaid). However the RCA Certificates that came with them says Total Production : 400 ( combined gold inlaid or blued engraving). Can someone explain this discrepancy, perhaps demand caused more to be made after the ones that I have were shipped.
Thanks for any insight,
Bennett

RCA "Mark" Pistols quantity produced
Any day without learning is a day of backing up.
Re: RCA "Mark" Pistols quantity produced
When the RCA sent out the first RCA Mark's they all had a certificate with them. I would imagine those first guns did have a certificate that said the total production was 400 pistols.
But RCA evidently had requests for quite a few more than that.
Those figures you have listed came from the RCA when I requested total production, because with the separate RCA numbers, the quantities weren't making sense, with those numbers ranging from RCA 1400 through RCA 2200.

Thanks Chad, I plan on doing a display in Tulsa including them, and it had me torn on stating in the display the correct number made.
