Type IX ?
Re: Type IX ?
The grips are not factory.
Are you sure it is a blue trigger? Looks like a lot of chrome on it.

Re: Type IX ?
If I remember right, the type IX serial numbers fall in amoung the type VIII serial numbers. If the trigger is not blue it is a type VIII.

Re: Type IX ?
Chet no plating on trigger. Not blued either. I have another type IX and that trigger is blued. I can't remember where I read or heard of another type IX that the trigger wasn't blued either. may have been RCA?
Re: Type IX ?
Maybe Ruger forgot to blue that one?
Could look like a zinc casting only?
If you take the grip frame off you should be able see one way or the other by looking at the top of the trigger.

Re: Type IX ?
I did take them off to check out the manufacture of the grips and the trigger, it's not plated. I was just looking back through my notes and there is another type IX not plated or blued.
