Ruger M77 6.5 Rem mag
Ruger M77 6.5 Rem mag
been looking for a 6.5RM and I have a lead on a Ruger M77R 6.5 Rem mag 70 prefix Hollow Bolt with drilled extractor in mint condition, this is the first Hollow bolt I have seen in 6.5 anybody else see any?
Re: Ruger M77 6.5 Rem mag
That gun should not have a hollowbolt.
Hollowbolts are known only on the long action.
The 6.5 is a short action.
But never say never... might be a unicorn there. With the way Ruger does R&D, why wouldn't they have made a few short action bolts with hollow bolt handle?
Since that bolt is cast as one piece, would be interesting to see if the scratched number on the bolt matches the gun... then... winner winner chicken dinner???
Be sure to keep us informed on this one!!!!

Chet15, Owner sent me some good photos 6.5 RM,Hollow Bolt, Driled Extractor, bolt engraved with ser#,ser# 70-262xx and looks legit. I don't have any other Hollow bolts to compare with just some flat bolts, he will bring to my shop this week where i can inspect it better. We will see!

Well looks like no Chicken dinner my buddy sent pictures of two different guns by mistake and they appear to be the same so as of now no hollow bolt 6.5

Speaking about 77 6.5 Rem mag I decided to letter some of my 77's. The 6.5 mag came back as a 77S. So did my 30/06 hollow bolt with sights.

Yeah, kinda intersting the S models. Built at a time when the bean counters didn't think it was prudent for them to include an expensive set of rings with a gun that had factory installed sights.
