Mr. Renner just texted me and said he finished re-stocking two of my #1s into matching laminate Mannlicher stocks.
Bigger one is a 24” No. 1H with the international laminate stock. I really like the look. It looks a lot like one of the (very) old-school Mausers from around the turn of the 19th century with that long fore-end.
Smaller one is for my daughter. It’s a 20” RSI International, in .308.
I was skeptical about that laminate, since it was the only style the custom stock maker had available, but once he got them rough cut, Mr. Renner worked his magic the rest of the way. I think they turned out very well.
Can’t wait to get them back and take my daughter out to the range.

Like those very much. Care to share details on stock maker, approximate cost?

That's an attractive pair of No.1s, I'm sure you and your daughter will enjoy them.

They are slick! What caliber is the 1H?
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

.375 H&H.
It’s the same rifle my son killed that Buffalo with a few months back. Just given a facelift.

Got them home.
Father-daughter, heads/tails matching laminate mannlichers.
Mr. Renner (RJRenner) and George (Treebone Carving) both did some fine work collaborating (conspiring) with me to get these made.
My wife loves them also (but I didn’t show her the invoice).
These are phenomenal - and something I can pass on to my kids. I told my wife once I’m gone, maybe these can be a “brother/sister” set.
I could not be more happy with them.
The .375HH tips the scale at 9 lbs 12 oz with scope, and handles masterfully - it’s simply outstanding, and cut to fit me now too
The .308 is 7 lbs 8 oz with scope and looks super cool.
I’m guessing these might be the only (or at least among only a very, very few) laminate #1 mannlichers in existence.
