I just finally got a 405 win. Scoured the country (Canada) where I live and roused up 5 boxes of ammo for it. I hear Hornady might make it again. Fingers crossed.
I took off the front site and replaced it with a white bead. On the back I mounted a skinner peep site. Unfortunately its going to be below minus 20 for a while and lots of wind. Yes I live very far north in the North West territories. Well should I shoot in that temp or not. Hmmmm.

Why sure, that’s what shooters are for. It might get a little frosty when you bring it inside after it sits out there for awhile though.Nahanni wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 9:58 pm I just finally got a 405 win. Minus 35 C today. If only Ruger No 1 had made one with a kevlar stock I'd go at any temp.

That No. 1 should be a great shooter with your sight setup. Minus 35, oh my...its 35 down here in the South USA and I thought that was a bit cold.

Got up to a balmy -10 C so I went out and got some shooting in.

Wonderful rifle! With loaded ammo, bit of range time and you have ... brass!!! Handloads are a great way to really enjoy the full capabilities of a rifle. How did the range trip go? Results? Sincerely. bruce.
