When did Ruger start using the clear plastic bags with the red eagles like this one?
Thanks, Bennett

Re: Ruger packaging bags
I can’t answer your question, but the earliest Ruger that I have with that bag is the RST-4S Stainless pistol from 4/1982. The latest is a 1999 50th Anniversary Mark II.

Re: Ruger packaging bags
I THINK I recall they switched to the plastic bags when they switched to the yellow & black cardboard boxes following the red flimsey ones. And as with everything Ruger,, there are exceptions. But it'd be very early 80's or even late 1970's for sure. I think as they used up the wax paper they used to wrap them in, they went to the plastic bags.

Thanks for the replies. Tyrone, that's the time range I was thinking just never tried to narrow it down.

Thanks Coogs, elimination is the process of narrowing stuff like this down.
