Hello new guy here.
I am looking for information on a Speed six I just bought yesterday. I tried to enter pictures but cannot. It is a 3 inch stainless speed six in 38 special. I did compare it to my 2 3/4 inch when I got home and took pictures but cannot load them. I attached the link to the auction since I cannot load pictures. I can email pictures if someone needs pictures to help me know about it. I am going to see if Ruger still provides a letter.

Re: Gs83
Sir,
According to RENE the end of the line for Security Six - Speed Six & Police Service Six guns was 162-547XX.
Ruger offers a Letter for $10.00, I would suggest that you might want to get one for your gun.
Best
Terry

If you go here to the Ruger site:
https://www.ruger.com/dataProcess/serialHistory/
You will see this: For Letters of Authenticity, please download and mail in the Request for Letter of Authenticity form. The Letter of Authenticity lists the serial number, ship date, model and caliber. We are unable to provide any information beyond that.
They will also tell you where (to who) it was originally shipped.
With that high od a S/N and being a 3' barrel, it could be a left over or overrun contract gun. When you get the Ruger LOA please let us know what it says.
