TULSA 11th ROCS DISPLAY SHOW

Post by flattop44 »

Received my display table receipt and it was marked 6' table, not 8'. I called them and it's a mistake, all our display tables are 8'. Thought I would let everyone know. Hope to see you there with a display in the ROCS area on Lower Wall.

I'm getting Jackies and my table reservations in the mail tomorrow. Then to set up the hotel reservation. See everyone at Tulsa (we'll be celebrating our 52nd anniversary that weekend).

Dang Ron,
You da man!!
Jackie is a lucky girl.

My poor wife spent most of our anniversaries in a muddy parking lot filled with dirt bikes, in a 21ft trailer, while I was putting on the local poker run!!
Did I mention it RAINED most years?
And the one shower our trailer would afford us, she made me take it, just to get the mud & "stinky dirt biker" smell off me, so I could sleep IN the trailer

Yep,
You really know how to treat a girl :)

Looking forward to seeing everybody!

Cheers,
Jay

I'm confused - I went online to the Tulsa Embassy Suites site and tried putting in ROCS in the Group Code block under Special Rates and did not see anything "special" about the rates. It showed the same rate as for Seniors, Military, AAA, etc.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to go to the main Embassy Suites by Hilton web site and start there or do I need to call the hotel and talk directly to them?

Ron,
I had the same problem, and to make it worse I got charged a different price of different days. I was on the phone for over an hour and when they sent the confirming e-mal it was wrong. After 3 days of calling and getting a different person each time, I gave up. My last e-mail said I owed them over $900.00 for a 4 day stay. Now my wife wants to call them but I told her to forget it we will straighten it out when we get there. (I hope!)

I always call the hotel direct. Ask for ROCS rate or Tulsa Arms Show rate, take the lowers. They usually charge us a little higher to block off rooms for us.

I have my room booked for a whooping 90,000 points....... 8-)

Unfortunately, we won't be displaying this year and it's in question if Taryn will be accompanying me yet. I have great faith she will ultimately make the trip just to keep taps on how much of "our" money goes home with someone else.

The plan is to fly into Tulsa on Thursday and be around to help anyone in need with setup up, but I'll be flying out on Sunday.
