Interesting story in John Dougan's book about how and when Ruger found about the 44 MAG.
WBR found out about it in winter of 55/56 and in less than a year designed and manufactured
the Blackhawk, and the first productions guns came out November 1956 .
I do not "own" these guns, I am but the next caretaker

Bill, that is an amazing gun and a beautiful photo of the first gun designed by S & W! What a handsome High Polish. That gun set the standard for other companies to follow. Brass Frame/Lee E

My mistake, not the first gun, it is the first .44 Magnum. Lee E

That's a great extremely rare S&W .44 Mag. Thanks for letting us see it.
