Colt grip conversion to XR3??

How close are Colt SA grips in fit to XR3 grips? I ran across a set of Colt grips made of beautiful Abolonie (sp?) shell mother of pearl that I would love to see on one of my single sixes…. I seem to remember they are close, just have to add a different locator pin hole…. But want to check before I commit to buying….

You're correct about the locaterpin hole being different. My experience is some will fit and others close but no fit. Each Colt grip frame is hand fitted so they are not all the exact same.

If they are real Mother of Pearl then be very careful drilling a second hole as they are very prone to cracking/breaking... There are some XR3 MOP grips out there. Good Luck.
