A little tease for the upcoming NRA display
A little tease for the upcoming NRA display
Taryn has been working on quite a few shadow boxes for the RCA display at the upcoming NRA convention in Houston in a couple of weeks. Here is the rough draft of one of them. This does not do justice to the final version as she stained the box and repainted a bunch of it, replaced the backing with a black velvet liner, and has the patches floating about 3/4" above the backing.

Wow, sounds like she is really making something special. Ofcourse everything she does is always special and outstanding. Wishing and hoping your display gets it's well deserved Award. Take plenty of pictures.

EXCELLENT showing of the RCA patches.
I wish I could read the dates on each one. The little date note isn't clear enough.

This is the rough draft version. We made a few changes, and the final version will be on display as well as in the photos of the upcoming Journal article for those that are not able to attend the NRA convention.

Troy I will get to see it in person as once again I am helping with the OGCA display.....
We have a 30 foot display we are bringing and it should be well received....unlike last years gut wrenching lack of love.....
Yes it is always an adventure but it is fun.....RR

Slowly coming together. This would not happen if it wasn't for Taryn. I will freely admit, primarily because everyone already knows, she does 95% of the work on our displays. She probably has at least a day each into each of the shadow boxes on the table.
A lot of thanks going out to those that have helped me track down a lot of the really neat items that are going into this display. I look forward to seeing those of you that are able to make it to Houston for the NRA display show. We will be in booth 3053 right behind the ROCS display. We will have a full write up on the RCA Summer Digest as well as some pictures posted on here once the display is set up next week.
I think I'm down to the wire to add anything but I'm still looking for a copy of "The Problem Fox" and a Problem Fox statue. Jay Hansen is loaning me one to put in the display, but I'd still like to have one of my own for future purposes if anyone stumbles across on that is available.
