Combine powder or keep separate?

Post by LDB »

I have an 8# jug of TiteGroup with ~2-3# remaining and about 5-6yrs since opened. I have two unopened 1# bottles of same. Combine and free up some in short supply space or keep separate?

I would suggest NOT to do this. Even though the package is labeled the same, different lots of the same powder could have subtle differences that could affect loads. However, if the lot #'s are EXACTLY the same you might be ok. But do you want to take the chance?? If you're worried about the empty space in the 8# bottle, if you have empty bottles/cans of TiteGroup I suppose you could fill them.

As Ronin commented, only combine if lit numbers are identical.

Hodgdon help desk also suggested keep it separate in a just received email. So now I will ask if I can get a couple of one pound size bottles from them.
