Which box is the correct one for this gun??

Post by twriggen »

The gun started life as a 4-digit flattop 44 with a 6.5" barrel. Then Hamilton Bowen got ahold of it and cut the original barrel down to 4 5/8" and converted it to 45 Colt.

Which box is the appropriate for it??

Since you have the story, Troy, I’d want the one that matches its original build. That way it’s in the “original” box on a very nice modified gun.

My 2 cents,
TomD

So is it a 5-shot now? Was HB able to squeeze 6 chambers in a 44 -size cylinder?

Here's one of my favs: added a SS Old Army grip and Ruger stags. The 45 ACP cylinder shoots into one big hole at 10 yards.

I'm pretty sure the Old Army had a steel grip frame instead of Aluminum but they were XR3-RED. I did not check the book so I may end up being wrong but where better to be wrong than here?

Which is technically what it is now that Bowen did his magic.
