Hello, new guy here. I was very fortunate to acquire an OM Single Six from a guy here locally that inherited it from his grandmother and locked it away until now. It is in pretty good condition with a few scratches on back of grip frame and on ejector housing. There was no box, paperwork, or parts that came with it. Ruger CS tells me it was made in 1964 and shipped with only a fluted magnum cylinder with a 5 1/2" barrel. The last three numbers of the SN are scratched onto the cylinder. It is marked Ruger 22 Caliber Single Six SN is 407562. Unfortunately it has been converted.
My question is, is there a resource to buy the old parts to unconvert this gun? Thank You

Help with unconverting an OM Single Six
Re: Help with unconverting an OM Single Six
Nice looking Single-Six. That is a really high number to have been shipped with only a Magnum cylinder and frame marked Ruger .22 Cal Single-Six. I have an extra set of original parts that will fit your gun, you can send me a PM and we can discuss off line.

Thank you, I sent Ruger $10 for a "Certificate of Authenticity".....for whatever good that will do.
I will get that PM off as soon as I can.

Re: Help with unconverting an OM Single Six
Ruger's dates of manufacture are misleading.
I can't tell from the last picture if the rear of the cylinder has a firing pin groove in it or not. LR cylinders have the firing pin groove and Mag. cylinders do not.
Also, since your gun is a 5-1/2" it would have been shipped either as RSS5W (LR only) or RSS5X (.22 LR and .22 Mag. convertible). I would be pretty sure your gun left the factory as an RSS5X because the last three digits of the serial number are scratched on the face of the cylinder. Up to at least 1973, Ruger didn't mark the cylinders of single cylinder guns (RSS5W and RSSMW) because there was no need to remove the cylinder from the gun once it had been fitted.
When your confirmation letter returns from Ruger I am pretty sure your gun shipped as the model RSS5X.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, it is a magnum cylinder with no groove. I'll let you know what Ruger says.chet15 wrote:Ruger's dates of manufacture are misleading.
