Hey all,
I'm Joe. I have carried firearms for most of my adult life (I'm in my 50s now). I served 28 years in the USAF and Air National Guard all carrying firearms. In the late 1980's, I worked security at a company called Uni-Cast. They built cast aluminum parts for the Ruger P85. It was here that I was introduced to Ruger products. I was made a roaming security supervisor and had the Ruger plant in Newport New Hampshire as one of my stops. I worked several shifts there between 1987 and 1989. I was offered a chance to purchase a P85 at discount so that became my first firearm I owned. I soon had a GP100 as well. However, I met a wonderful woman and got married. She didn't want guns in the house unless she was trained to use them. I sold the old pistols.
For Christmas 2015, I sent her to classes to learn basics of handling a pistol. We soon had her owning 2 pistols and a Ruger 10/22 rifle. I have since purchased 2 P-Series, a GP100, and a SP101. I am attempting to purchase at least one example of each of the p-series models to make a display for the shows. If anyone has a p-series they would like to sell at a reasonable price, keep me in mind. Anyhow, I have joined ROCS and hope to be able to make it to some shows. Thanks for having me. Joe

Joe,
We are happy to have you as a member of ROCS and look forward to meeting you at some of our shows. Hopefully some of our members will be able to help you out with some P series pistols for your collection and display.
Your connection with the Ruger company is quite interesting, hope to hear more about it.
Again, welcome to ROCS! !

Hello Joe and welcome to our ROCS Forum. Where are you located? That would help to tell you which of our display shows will be close to you. I sold my only P series gun about 5 years ago. I am now enjoying one of the the new 1911s and a new Ruger American Pistol in 9mm. I would like to invite you to our Ohio Gun Collectors show in July. Let me know if you have an interest in attending and I will mail you the details. Welcome to ROCS! Brass Frame/Lee.

Glad you joined us, what you have in mind will be expensive, but lots of fun. I'm thinking about a show display myself. Just need Ruger to produce a K1RSI and I'll be set.
Re: New Member
Lee, I am in the Richmond Virginia area. I am very interested in the show in Ohio in July. Will have to bring my wife, I think she would enjoy it as well. RocDoc, I would only buy one of each model (One P85, One P89, One P90, etc). It will not be as expensive that way compared to one of each type. Joe
