357 Brass Frame

Post by 101ssgt »

Hello gentlemen,
I've just signed up as a new member and have a question, only one for the moment, but more to follow. I have a 357 Blackhawk 4 5/8 bbl, with the factory brass frame, SN, have the letter from Ruger. It doesn't have anything stamped on the left side and absolutely no evidence of any removal. I was just wondering what kind of value this might hold. Thanks for any info you can provide. Not sure I'll be willing to part with it, but I am just wondering.

I think the non-rolled marked frames from the factory are certainly unique and interesting. As far as value goes it depends on the seller and the buyer. Someone wanting a unique un-marked frame would probably pay a premium but how much depends on the two folks involved.....just how bad the prospective buyer wanted it JMHO of course.

What is the barrel length of your Brass Frame, .357 and would you be willing to share the serial number? I like these factory lettered, brass frame Rugers. Brass Frame/Lee

Now that I have read your post a second time, I see that it is a 4 5/8" barrel gun. These are very collectible, but I have never seen one without the roll markings on the left side? Great gun to have. Brass Frame/Lee

The sn is 31-27654, which I find unusual in itself, has all numbers from 1-7. I am planning trying to post a few pictures of some of my OM SA Rugers, hopefully this afternoon or tomorrow.

Your gun is an interesting variation. As Lee pointed out the value would be based on how bad someone wanted it. Not having any markings is not to uncommon. I have a .41 that has no barrel markings and have seen several that are marked wrong. They make for very interesting pieces for your collection.

Would love to see some pictures.

Very unusual! and uncommon. You just don't see many like that.
