Wanted to know if anyone (maybe Chad) knows the known serial numbers of the 5 known to exist?
Thank you, Greg
101 pre-fix 44 Carbines
Re: 101 pre-fix 44 Carbines
The ones in my notes are as follows...
101-00350
101-00803
101-00853
101-02200
The first three I believe were listed in an RCA Journal from the late 1980's(?) as appearing on a list of used guns that were shipped from the factory, so these three may be "U" or even "S" marked.
A 101- gun was also sold in one of Ruger's internet auctions a few years back...that serial number is printed in a past issue of RENE...not sure what issue at the moment.
Then, there should be three collections that probably also have a 101-. I think 101-02200 might be K.D. Wilhite's...But V. Chase should have one and there is probably also one in a New York collection, a collection that hasn't been seen in over 25 years.
Would be interesting to know if there are any of the RS model in the 101-
