I'm new to this group but not Rugers. I never thought of myself a collector but apparently have become an accumulator since my first Blackhawk was purchased in 1976. Fortunately I still have it and a few others aquired over the years. Number 1s are by far my favorite Ruger firearm and I recently came into one that I'd like to return to near original configuration. The person I got it from had it lettered so we know it left the factory as an S26M in 6mm, beaver with no sights in April, 1968.
So I'm looking for a early take off barrel and forend from a 1B in 6mm Rem. This is for an early (low 4 digit) pre prefix No.1 that was rebarrelled at least twice in the distant past. It now has a pre warning 45/70 and I'd like to find a meduim bore early barrel ( if not 6mm then any 7mm and smaller would do ).
Any help/advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Mike I will keep an eye out. I do come across them a fair amount. I have a spare 308 but it is newer than what you want.

Dave, thank you, I'll post if I should come across something otherwise.
