Bill Ruger - Presentation
Looking For Information Involving the following in the West port - South port area . Does any one recognize the name Pierre Nelli who owned a Restaurant called Chez Pierre at 146 Main Steet in Westport I believe. Looking for information on any connection to Bill Ruger . A pair of Old Army revolvers showed up recently serials 41 and 42 . One of the boxes serial 41 has several signatures on the front on the red panel - Appears to have been a Birthday present to Mr Nelli in about the 1960's or may be early 1970,s . One of those signatures is William B. Ruger with a interesting comment .Have been able to match his writing to a signature in a Book Never seen any thing signed by Ruger personally . Of the 3 signature's Ruger was the only one who signed his entire name . The other signature appear to have been for 2 people may be a man and wife . I know that Mr Nelli died in Florida in the late 1970's

An interesting pair of Old Army's! Both are stainless I presume?
That name doesn't ring a bell with me, but there should be some folks who are familiar with the area.
Can you post a pic of the end of the box with the other signatures? Maybe we can figure out who the others were by.
For the stainless Old Army there is also a scarce variation in that some of the cylinders are rollmarked with their Blackpowder statement so that you read it if the gun was pointed at your midsection, those are more collectible.
A few early stainless guns were also shipped with rosewood grips.

Yes , both are stainless . Letters from Ruger are useless , but they do reveal that serial 42 was manufactured a few months before serial number 41 . Both in Red Boxes . Never fired as wax paper is perfect inside . Boxes show some tatter from being handled . I will have reexamine markings on cylinders more closely . Will post a picture as soon as i figure out how .

I was given Subscription #42 in 2009 from Ruger, until the program ended.
