Lever Action 357 and 44 Mag

Post by MinorLV »

Hello all and Happy Holidays...

I collect Six Series and Redhawks. I am considering adding Lever Actions to compliment my collection. I am interested in getting feedback on Lever Action 357 and 44 Mags. Thoughts on the 96/44? Has Ruger ever made a lever action in 357? Also interested in everyones feedback on other Ruger 357/44 options?

Ps - How about the Redhawk 357 8- Shot...good stuff but hoping it willl be available in a 4".

Merry Christmas all and wishing everyone a Happy Healthy 2017.

Best,

Michael

Don't recall seeing a 96/44 at a show for some time now. Those that bought them must like them because you seldom see them. I do not recall seeing the 96 in a 357. I like the older Marlins and had one in 44 mag but was not shooting it that much and traded it for something else, dumb idea. Wish I had it back now. I also like the Henry Big Boy and they come in both 357 and 44 mag. I like the short through on the Henry verses the longer through on the Marlins. One of my Marlins is in 444 and I like it but the pigs I introduced it to didn't like it at all. I have a Redhawk inn 357 that is fun to shoot and has taken a couple deer.

Been sniffing around for a Rossi stainless 92 carbine. I like shiny easy to care for guns. Lots of .44 and .45 rifles but hard to find in a 357 carbine (that I can afford). I know they're not Ruger quality but there are fixes available and they look so old timey COOL.

I have a Winchester Ranger Compact Carbine in .357 Magnum & a Marlin 1894p in .44 Magnum. I bought them off a guy who was into Cowboy Shooting but got in a jam & needed money.... (bad lifestyle choices) The price was right & they are both in excellent shape. Not Ruger but they are not leaving the stable so to speak.
