ruger quality control

Post by Rommel »

Talking to sporting goods stores, I have heard complaints about new guns coming in with barrels drilled and tapped only part way and mounted sights wobbling, SP101's with actions that did not work properly, and one large sporting goods store salesman who said that 13 of his last Ruger firearms ordered in had to be sent back to the factory. Has quality control fallen that far?

Sporting goods stores, especially big box retailers, are about the last place I'd go for good (accurate) gun advice of any kind.

Not saying there aren't occasional QC problems. The question is; what percentage of the product has problems? While studying marketing in college someone told me that one dis-satisfied customer will tell an average of 10 people but it'll take 100 satisfied customers to tell just one person of their satisfaction.
