Hello from Central Florida. I have always been a fan of Rugers, and started collecting Number One Tropical Rifles about 20 years ago. I have since moved on to Blackhawk and Super Blackhawk revolvers, but not in a serious way. Since I'm about to retire I hope to spend more time in this pursuit.
I'm also a Trap and Sporting Clays shooter, as well as a reloader and handgun shooter.
Do you have any gun shows in Florida where you display?

Welcome, happy to have you join us. No shows in FL at this time but we would like to have you come up to Huntsville in January.

Hello from Ohio and welcome to retirement. I strongly recommend the AL. show, but if you cannot wait until next January, we put on a show in Ohio, just north of Cincinnati! It will be held in July and is not far from a major amusement park. I also collect Ruger No.1 rifles but prefer the varmint calibers and non prefix serial numbers.
I am known as Brass Frame as I have a collection of all the models and calibers that left the factory in the earl 1970s with a brass grip frame. Let me know if you would like more details about our summer show and I will mail a show packet to you. I also reload handgun ammo and utilize a back yard range. Sporting Clays and Skeet are my favorite shotgun sports. Brass Frame/Lee E

Another big welcome from Ohio. I retired over 3 years ago and as stated above it is way under rated. I have several different types of Rugers in both handguns and rifles. The 10/22 is my choice when it comes to displaying. I have almost all of the early models and all of the laminated models from 1986 through 1999. I even have one that was a special one of a kind that was a gift from Ruger for helping them out at a show. I also like to reload and have my own ranges at the place we like to call home.
I have displayed parts of my 10/22 collection in several states and added Huntsville Alabama to the list this year.
If you are looking for a great show to get started I highly recommend the Ohio show that Lee mentioned above. You will find a great group of like mined people who like Rugers. My wife and I both enjoy the shows and it gives us a chance to travel.
Hope to see you at the show.

Welcome Skipshot. When you said you collect Ruger #1 Tropical Rifles that reminded me of a rifle I have not seen in over 30 years. A friend of my uncle's had a Ruger #1H in .375H&H that he took to Alaska for bear & moose. He had his trophies mounted & they were 1 shot kills. After the man died I waited for awhile to ask if his rifle was still around. His wife was sweet talked out of his guns by someone that knew he was a hunter so they were all gone. She sold them at give away prices too.... Some you win... Some you lose...
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

Welcome Skipshot from the deserts of Arizona! As mentioned try and come to Hunstvile if possible. You will have a good time and meet a fine group of Ruger collectors.
I also collect Super Blackhawks, they are my favorites.
