ELMER KEITH'S SUPER BEARCAT

Since we are talking about Super Bearcats I wanted to show you a special one that I have had for several years. It is believed to be the first Ruger to come out of Elmer Keith's collection. Quite a story of how it was obtained in a trade by its second owner but too long to tell here. I really like the Order Number at the left bottom corner of the shipping label. I consider myself quite lucky to be its caretaker!

A very nice piece of history. I understand that Mr. Keith was quite the character. A quick search tonight yielded this about the big auction at which some amazing firearms exchanged hands. Maybe some here even got in on the action.
