Color case hardened old model????

Post by gunman42782 »

I have never heard of a color case hardened old model, but this guy says he has one:

He says Ruger said it's factory original, that they only made a very few of them for employee's.

What do you guys think?

Can not open to see pics or model but there were some. 357s made, extremely rare.

Well, the guy that posted it must have deleted it because everybody was giving him grief. That's a first for me, I don't remember ever even reading about any color case hardened Blackhawks.

Eight .357 Blackhawks with a color case hardened frame were manufactured in 1958. Consecutive serial numbers 5784-5791. Information in John Dougan's Book, Know Your Ruger Single-Action Revolvers, 1953-1963, page 131. :)

Well blame the guy getting PO'd on me......it was a 15xxx serial number and he was saying Ruger wanted him to send it to them so they could verify it as original.....He was so full of BS he made me look like a rookie.....I asked a few pertinent questions that he didn't like and he pulled the post.....Heck I was hoping it was RIGHT....OH WELL....RR

There are 2 outside the factory collection and they are both in the hands of one collector. I had the opportunity to see both of them at the Tulsa show many years ago and they are sure pretty! 8-)
