96-96 Indy 500 and Micro Machines

Post by Rugerologist »

It's been a while since I overposted so.....Who remembers this guy?

Sorry about that. I remember quite a few Micro Machines commercials that he did when I was a child.

Anyway, here's something cooler than that guy. The 96 Indianapolis 500 Micro Machines with Ruger Titanium Car #64, a trading card 2 1/2" X 3 1/2", and a promotional photograph 5X7 (same photo as card) of Johnny Unser with the real Ruger/Titanium car.

Deb and I were there for the time trials that year and had pit passes. What a great experience to watch the RUGER car out doing laps!

That's a good story! Have any photos from the event?

I meant for the title to be 96-97. Oh well.

Cirrhitidae, I have one of the rear wings off of the short track package for the black Ruger titanium car, along with a pic I received from Johnny showing that particular car in action.
Also have press kit photos of the 1st year white car and the 2nd year yellow car.
Didn't realize there was a Micro Machine mini...I think I need to find one of those now.
Neat stuff!!
