The Fall 2017 Tulsa Gun Show

Post by Trapper79 »

It was great to see all the fellow ROCS members at the show . The 4th annual ROCS banquet was GREAT . The food was excellent. A big thumbs up to all that put it all together. Another high praise to all the display participants. Looking forward to April.

Thanks Rodney, we all had a great time too!! I want to thank all of the displayers who brought out their guns for us to enjoy. There were sure some fine Rugers on display. I also want to thank everyone who supported ROCS by coming to the show, participating in our Raffles & Auctions and attending the Awards banquet. Just being there Saturday night at the banquet to hear the National Anthem played by Miss Madison Tyler, the 10 years old violinist from Texas, was well worth the trip!!! Oh, Madison also won the 1st Place Junior Class Display award too. It is sure nice to spend a weekend with a bunch of like minded folks! :)

Tulsa: I agree with Bill about Miss Tyler. She is a real inspiration with her personality and people skills! When she walked by our displays, she ALWAYS had a huge grin and comment. She played a real tune on her violin and made everyone smile!!
Great job Bobby and Paige. Brass Frame/Lee E

I too had a great time. It was a lot to take in for a first timer but well worth the effort. I enjoyed meeting you all, seeing your displays, and being around such great people.

I am already working on a second article for the Digest about displaying from a first timers perspective so I want to be brief here but point out some specific things that I really enjoyed.

1. Everyone was willing to help educate me about anything and everything that I asked.
2. The displays were all very high quality, educational, and interesting.
3. Ruger people are some of the nicest collectors in the firearms community. Don't get me wrong, I think we can all b.s a little and a haggle is just expected on items that are for sale but it's all part of the fun.
4. Many when able went out of their way to introduce me to others, engage me in conversation, and really make me feel welcome. A few times surprise gifts that were memorabilia related showed up behind my table. I do know who a few items came from.
5. The banquet was fun, well organized, good food, and really the best time to get to know some of you better. I regret that I wasn't able to speak with or meet everyone but I tried to make as many introductions as possible. The Tyler gun was beautiful in person as was the Star Spangled Banner intro.

All in all, it was an outstanding experience and I look forward to the next time I'm able to do this. Thank you all for welcoming me the way that you did.

Kind Regards

It always goes too fast! I got away without saying goodbye to everyone. Can't wait til next year. Chuck, think about a trip to the NRA show at Dallas next May. ROCS will have a single display and we can always use some help. No trade tables, so more time to visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show, but especially being there for the displays, banquet and seeing all the fine Ruger folks. Madison Tyler put a smile on everyone's face with her personality and great rendition of the national anthem on her fiddle.

I love all our Ruger shows but Tulsa holds a special place in my heart.
Thank you you all our displayers and members for attending this year.
