Factory engraving pattern for the Ruger 20 gauge.

I enlarged the photo and read the scale. The actual engravings would be 11/16ths by 3/16ths. Fairly intricate for the size.

Several years ago Ruger had a guy working for them who did "photo etching". His name was Bill Farringer. He had worked for Savage Arms where he etched rifles for them. He etched several shotguns and a few No 1 rifles while at Ruger, I believe this is a pattern for etching drawn by Triggs. It appears to be upside down as compared to the text.

That's a really good looking design, if I remember right the birds were gold inlaid.

I must retract my first statement. That is what I get for reading it when I was tired. 2.75" long makes much more sense...
