Hello everyone
I am a new member and from N E Pa. I am new at collecting and could use all the help I can get. I am particularly interested in SS/Walnut No. 1’s
(K1A, K1RSI etc) also M77 in SS/Walnut especially the M77KRSI’s. I bought a few guns off of Lee and I think I am off to a good start. Looking for the elusive 308 K1RSI and the RMEF 30-40 Krag RSI to round out my 1RSI’s but I am sure they will show up in time. I picked up a No 1 in 270 Win with the Whittington Center logo on 1 side and a mountain scene on the other with covered wagons and men on horseback. I think it is real nice engraving but like I said I am new to all of this. The wood is exceptional but I cannot find out any other info on it. Bobby Tyler said it looks very familiar and might have been done in his shop but does not remember when. If I can figure out how to post pictures I will. I am not even sure I am doing this right. Looking forward to hearing from all of you.

Welcome,
I like the K77RSI, K1A and K1RSI issues myself. One you mentioned your looking for the K1RSI 308 #11398, Lipseys says 110 produced. Another one you probably would like is the K77/22 RSI Lipseys did a while back, something like 600ish made #7036. Real neat rifles.

Hi Bob! You are in the right place for sure. Ruger is spoken fluently and if it is out there somone here will know where. Glad to have you with us.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

Re: New member from Northeastern Pa
I think (with the help of my wife) I figured out the add picture thing. If anybody out there can tell me anything about this NRA rifle it would be appreciated. I found it in N.E.Pa. this past April in a small Gunshop. The story is a guy won it (probably at a NRA function) and when he passed the family sold all his guns. Months or years later they found one of those $500.00 metal rigid airplane gun case with this rifle in it buried in the back of the closet not anywhere near where the other guns were. Brought it to a friend’s Gunshop and I bought it. So if anyone can tell me anything about it please do. Called Ruger, NRA, the Whittington Center and a few engravers across the country but no definite information. Ruger told me it came out of the factory as a 30-06 (but now a 270 Win). Bobby Tyler said it looked familiar and thinks it went though his shop quite a few years ago but does not remember when. Between the gorgeous wood, the engraving, the story behind it and the price I had to buy it. You guys know what I am talking about. I hope the pics come thru.

Can't tell you anything about the rifle but welcome to the forum. I'm over in State College. If any info can be found on your rifle, this is the palce that will find it.
