I found a laminate .338 winmag and picked it up.
S/N: 132-69909
By all accounts, Ruger never made a laminate .338 winmag. At least not to my knowledge.
The gun has laminate woodwork. With blued barrel and action - barrel is a factory stamped Ruger blued barrel.
The gun has stainless sling swivel studs, and a stainless steel, factory Ruger pistol grip cap.
As best I can figure, it’s not supposed to exist, but it does. Any thoughts on that?

I assume this is a 1B. The easy (and likely) answer is that someone just changed the stocks. About as simple as it gets.

Your gun was shipped as a 1B in 1984.
The first laminates weren't offered by Ruger until 1986

It's a 1B.
Likely so on the stock swap. I haven't taken the stock off to check under the hood, but that seems the most likely also.
I sent a certificate request letter off to Ruger asking for more info on it.

Now if only I could find .338 win mag ammo.
Right now it's just a big paperweight.
