MAXIMUM PRODUCTION NUMBERS
MAXIMUM PRODUCTION NUMBERS
I learn something new just about every day about the Max. Got some help from a lot of fellow collectors along the way. So, recently acquired a roll mark log book. Unfortunately the Maximum numbers start at around 7500 up to the final frame that WAS roll marked was 600-16314! So that makes about 16,314 completed guns and/or roll marked frames. So (again), according to Ruger records, 600-11588 is the highest number out there, every thing above it has been "scrapped" Which figures out to 4726 Maximums. (Ahhhhh, but at least not ALL of them, for sure, as I have 600-14210) Now, between 600-11300 (which for years was thought to be the highest one) and 600-11588, there are several "blocks" of numbers that are also listed as "scrapped" as well as individual numbers. Given what I know about the "scrapped"guns (there is a another post in there somewhere in the near future) I would say somewhere between 5500 and 6500 Maximums were "scrapped" by the factory. More to follow. Jack
