Re: red hawk
Your Gun is most Likely a Super Redhawk in 44 caliber & that serial # was a subscription gun I don't have my list rite now by I should be able to tell you who held that #24. Value IMHOI would say from $800 to $1100 depending what the condition.

If you have the box, sleeve, and all the paper work I would estimate (IMO) $1000.00 +. That's if it looks unfired. Anyway a 2 digit gun is a rare find and is sure to go up in value.
Nice find!

Re: red hawk
#24 was William F. Lett's number; his collection was sold at auction a few years ago. Need to read R. L. Wilson's book RUGER & His Guns to get a good understanding of the long time relationship between WBR and Bill Lett
Re: red hawk
Is the serial number 550-0024x ( 3 digits) or 550-00024 (2 digits)?
