Looking at those from back then you can see Bill Rugers frugality/thriftiness and having interchangeable parts which helps keep cost down, thus reasonable selling prices.

Jay,
Thank you !
I have been lucky & I am also a student of the great "Certified Ruger Maniac" Radical Rod.
His class on "How To Win Auctions & Firearms Negotiations Every Time Guaranteed" is a sure fire winner. ;) 8-)

You must just about have the market cornered. Do you find and buy any of them locally so you get to check them out first? Or all online? I'd think a local find might be even a bit more special.

I have only found one locally, most have came from auctions.

Terry,

The 3/8" stick drill is unusual in that it is fitted with a standard crank, the ones that I have seen all have an adjustable two position crank, thus more leverage when drilling with a larger size bit. These are wonderful drills, thank you for posting the pictures.

Thank you. I used to accumulate Case knives. I liked the ones I found at random locations best even though they were likely the most "previously appreciated" of any. As for those drills, I think I like stuff like that as much as, if not more than, the actual guns themselves. You are fortunate to have this additional pleasure. Most don't and only have the guns, a loss to them.
