I just picked this one up today.
There were 20-25 proto-type Blackhawk revolvers in CCH finish made in 1992.
They were concept CCH finish guns for Ruger's blue version of the soon to be released Vaquero line up which was released in 1993.
This gun was still in Ruger's inventory as of November 1996.
BN-455C, Model 0467 (not 0465,) Ser# 47-45013, 5 1/2" with steel grip frame and barrel numbered to gun!!, Blue/CCH finish. Note end label is on shipper not box.
I remember Chad and weaselmeatgravy years ago discussing these guns. Chad informed me that he has tracked down all of the guns serial numbers.

Congratulations Terry, glad you have your copy, but truthfully I just realized I have one!
I thought I had one of these, but knew little about them. My friend Scott from RugerWorld called me an mentioned that I needed one of these and talked me into it by adding Bill Ruger's personal copy of the Colonel Sam Colt collection book by Wilson with a couple cool notes from the author and Herb Glass. Being a total sucker for items like the book I bought the package from him. Most normal people won't buy a book to get a revolver, but no one has ever accused me of being normal! Thanks Scott! Now I know there is at least 1 other person that enjoys the beautiful case hardening! Bill
47-44864 is a NM Blackhawk that does not show as being shipped on Ruger's serial number lookup page. We have no idea what model it may have been, but it is possible this is also a BNV-455C that has not left Ruger's inventory. Or it is a serial number that was scrapped.
Chad,
Thanks for the numbers. They are still out there gentlemen!
I noted--
Number of guns shipped per year,1992 (1) 1994 (1) 1996 (1) 1997 (9) 1998 (1) 2002 (1) 2005 (7) & 2010 (2).
And a consecutive pair were shipped separately five years apart. #47-45520 (1992) & #47-45519 (1997).
