Way To Go Don!!!

Post by Watertender »

In the newest issue of The American Rifleman is a great article on the birth of the Ruger Mark 1 Target Pistol written by Don Findley. It's GREAT!!!

Thank you for all your encouragement. Here are some photos that didn't get in the article. Closeup of S/N 25203. That is the MKI pictured with the box & papers. T678 numbers were from 15000 thru 16999, then picked up again at 25000. The 25000 guns (Red Eagles) were soon transitioned into the black eagle era. Before the Target Models were introduced Ruger considered a conversion unit, in the form of an alternative barreled receiver, to be marketed to convert the Standard Pistol to a target version. This would convert the Standard model into a target pistol (2 guns) with one common grip frame.

Another fine Don Findley article in the newest American Rifleman. Between Don & Chad Hiddleson they have forgot more about the Ruger .22 Pistol than most people know. Those 2 men are a wealth of knowledge. To have the 1st pistol that a company made with the documentation is priceless.... THANKS DON!!!!
