What is It?
This picture appeared in the April 1975 American Rifleman magazine, page 8 as part of an ad for an insurance company. There has to be a good story behind this Flattop. Anyone know anything about it? A serial no. or caliber was not listed.

Donnie, the mahogany case insert does not appear to be entirely cut out for the Flat Top? Could this be a 6 1/2" .357 Flat Top
convertible for .357 and 9mm? The ammo kind of looks like .44? The cloth in the lid of the wood case does not show an indent from being close with the revolver in place? The gun appears to be "in the white" after a full coverage of engraving.

Hi Donnie. Did you ever receive more information about this flattop? The grip frame appears to be an XR3, and the .44 cartridges could fit both cylinders? The display case is still a mystery? Lee E

I never heard any more about it. I bought a SBH from a Ruger employee once. He had an extra (which was unnecessary) cylinder for a .44 special. Interesting gun. More questions than answers.
