Ah, makes sense now. So looking for the Mk 1, Single Six, Speed Six, 10/22 etc. etc. with S/N 265-xxxxx? And preferably the 265-12345 (or whatever specific digits one looks for in those positions)? But is any 265-xxxxx good or it has to be the exact one sought? Interesting stuff. I have specific numbers for 4, 5 or 6 digit needs I use, whether PIN or whatever. So I could be looking for 310, a meaningful number to me plus one of my specific meaningful sequences and that's how it would work? Interesting stuff. This is why to me this is one of the best forums out there.

Actually, it would be serial # XXX-12345. Prefixes would always be different, the denote the model. The numbers after the prefix are the "serial". The other desirables, sometimes as much as duplicate, would be the sequential.

Guns produced prior to 1969 did not have a dash in their serial number so the serial number would be an exact match across the different models. I do not have the good fortune of having an example to share but I'm sure someone will pop up with a photo of an example.

I have quite a few Rugers that all have the same serial number....265......no prefix or dash.....just 265 the early Red Eagle is actually 0265.....
I have the RST4, RSS, BKH3, RH28, 10/22, Deerstalker 264 & 265, BKH41.....and a few more I can't remember at the moment.
I haven't found one in many years .....I would love to find the BKH4....any help would be appreciated.

Terry, I do keep it handy but since getting bit by the Colt bug I am not as actively looking as I once was.....
I seem to have been taken over by short barrel Double Actions these days....I chase the Detective Specials for some reason....
Though my personal carry is the Ruger LCR 38.....which I absolutely love....though a GOOD RARE RUGER can make my knees get weak

How about a 1955 DS that letters with "PYTHON" blue.......they only made 300 Python in 1955 I bet they made even fewer DS's with this custom finish...this is the only one I know of.
