That is really nice. Looks like it has beautiful wood. Looking forward to hearing what you think.

A firearm without a round chambered is an expensive fancy paperweight.

My 10-22 MAG is one of my favorites. Straight shooter, and them crows blow up real good!!t.hinckley wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 2:25 pm The fairy showed up for me a week or so ago...

I would like to suppress it, but can't bring myself to thread the original barrel.
Anyone ever have a 22LR chamber reamed to 22 MAG?

Re: Which next?
The action of the standard 10-22 is too short to handle the .22 Magnum round. It's a nice idea that just doesn't work.JAYDAWG wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 5:40 pmMy 10-22 MAG is one of my favorites. Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

Re: Which next?
I was thinking the other way. Put a reamed chamber 22 LR barrel on a MAG action...........But, I've never had the barrel off of my MAG. Is it a V-block like the LR?Watertender wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 7:07 pmThe action of the standard 10-22 is too short to handle the .22 Magnum round. Re: Which next?
Jay,
They both use the V-block for barrel mounting.
I like what your thinking of, making a simple barrel switch so the re-chambered barrel could be threaded for your can.
Not sure about the difference in the barrels (.22 LR/.22 Mag) shank length, but that's a simple fix on a lathe.
Go for it.

I came really close to meeting Bill Ruger and Alex Sturm in person this week so I better behave myself and be nice...
