That one chromed stick drill is unusual with the 1/4" chuck. By far the most common variety of chrome stick drill has a short crank handle with rollmark and aluminum knob and no address to the rear of the chuck, but they also have 3/8 chucks. There are also a few known without rollmarks at all, but also with 3/8" chuck and short crank handle with aluminum knob (this is the earliest produced). But that is the first chrome stick drill I believe I've seen with the rollmark only behind the chuck... and it has a 1/4" chuck. This variety would see to be on the tail end of chrome straight drill Ruger corp. production.
Be sure to catch my article in the next RENE.
An article will also appear in ROCS, probably in several different issues because I am up to a lot of pages with pics!
