Why are there 3 letters on the stock and dates stamped inside the forearm, and initials on falling block. I thought this was only on older 1970s ones.

I have the 1-V 223 stainless it shoots very well with no modification. Likes bipod and bench. I have target scope on it.

7x57 a 1974 and a 1984
A 1984 and an old 1974 7x57. Ten years appart. The AB has a 3.5x10. What scope would you put on the 1974 for it to be period accurate. This was found in Canada.
